The pantry and co-op are requesting cash donations at this time as a $1.00 donation can typically buy 10 lbs. of food. Checks can be made out directly to St. Hyacinth Food Pantry or to Lumen Christi with St. Hyacinth Food Pantry listed in the memo line. The greatest needs for the Pantry at this time are:
The St Hyacinth's Emergency Food Pantry is one of the largest Hunger Task Force Pantries in Milwaukee County. Typically, the pantry will distribute 30,000 to 50,000 lbs. of food per month to approximately 600+ families averaging in size from 3 to 3.5 family members. Most of the food is obtained from Hunger Task Force and Feeding America, which means items vary depending on their inventory. Many times, basic staples and hygiene supplies are unavailable. The pantry has many Lumen Christi parishioners as volunteers and always wecome more. Contact Kathy Saiia at 262-939-6119 or s67tr4a@aol.com if you are interested in volunteering!
