Our Building Master Plan aims to provide for the facility needs of our parish for the next 50 years. This Master Plan is being accomplished in two distinct phases. With the successful completion of Phase 1, our facilities are fully consolidated on one site. The Phase 1 project included:
Converting the existing Mequon gymnasium into a two-story parish facility that provides new space for Parish-wide Catholic Formation and Parish offices, including new multi-purpose meeting rooms, dedicated office spaces, and the St. Cecilia Hall.
Construction of a new Parish Activity Center (gymnasium)
Construction of new school classrooms, including specialty rooms such as music, art, learning center, and science lab
Updating existing school classroom spaces to accommodate all grades for School and Catholic Formation, including a secure entry and updated cafeteria/kitchen
New water source to the property and updated fire sprinkler system as required by code
Expanded parking on the acquired East property and North of the School
The cost of Phase 1 was $11.7 million. The good news is that when we combine our Phase 1 campaign funds, our Faith in Our Future campaign funds, and the funds from the sale of our Thiensville property, Phase 1 was fully funded. Furthermore, the Thiensville property sale has relieved the parish of repair costs and annual operating expenses.
