The District Council of St. Vincent de Paul in Ozaukee County consists of our Fredonia/Belgium, Port Washington/Saukville, Grafton, Mequon, and Cedarburg St. Vincent de Paul conferences. These five conferences provide neighbors in need, homeless, and jail releasees with support throughout all of Ozaukee County. These works of charity are funded in part through dollars generated from items donated at our Port Washington thrift store. In addition to funding the good works of the conferences, our thrift store provides essential goods such as clothes, shoes, housewares, and furniture to those we help in the community.
As our founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, said, “No work of charity is foreign to the Society.”
Whether you volunteer at our store, donate goods for resale, or provide cash donations, please know that we could not conduct our works of charity without your thoughtful consideration.
Over the past year, our Ozaukee Council was able to assist over 2,000 neighbors in need with over $190,000 of rent assistance, housing, utilities, food, transportation, and other needs. In addition, your generosity enabled us to provide some of these same families with over $17,000 in store (care card) credit to purchase the clothing and household items they so desperately needed.
We are so grateful that God has not only called us to serve our neighbors in need but has provided us with your generous support that allows us to help those in need succeed in helping themselves.
