Catholic Charities Archdiocese Announcement

From the Archdiocese of Milwaukee:
We learned this week from Catholic Charities that the agency has fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme in which certain former employees improperly used agency funds for their and others personal benefit. This violation of trust and abuse of power has left us saddened, but also resolved. No one was turned away from the vital services Catholic Charities provides because of this situation, no donor restricted funds were compromised, and its services to lift the poor and marginalized remains strong. I have learned about the many ways in which the agency is strengthening its operations, and the agency’s financial condition remains strong as well. Many faithful throughout the Archdiocese have donated to Catholic Charities or been the beneficiaries of their important services over the years. While God calls us to forgive, he also calls us to fight evil with good. Please keep all involved in your prayers and, if you are so inclined, continue to support the important work of Catholic Charities.
