St Hyacinth’s Emergency Food Pantry is now the Jim Luther New Hope Center
Some history first: the current St Hyacinth Pantry schoolhouse facility is physically too small and has dangerously small and steep steps. These stairs provide significant challenges in moving the 30,000+ pounds of food per month that are received, stored, stocked and distributed. Therefore, the operation of the food pantry is targeted to physically move to another, yet to be determined, neighborhood location.
The mission of the Pantry has also expanded to the point that it is beyond what St Hyacinth’s congregation can manage. As reported before, the Pantry Board has recommended, and the St. Hyacinth congregation has concurred that the Jim Luther New Hope Center should now be responsible for all operations of this growing mission. The mission of the Pantry/Co-op organization has not changed but has simply evolved to include additional ministries.
The Pantry and Co-op separation from the St Hyacinth congregation and the Milwaukee Archdiocese is an amicable separation and has now been finalized (effective March 31, 2023). All participating parties have long agreed that this is best for the continuing success of the mission. This separation is accepted and also blessed by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. To that end, all future correspondences and donations should now be addressed to:

Facing an unplanned pregnancy can be scary and overwhelming. Lumen Christi is proud to support the Women's Care Center and Women's Support Center to walk with moms in need. Not only do the resource centers assist when mom's are pregnant, but they continue to care for moms with baby supplies and parenting classes.
Some general suggested items for donation include:
Color coded bins can found in our donation area just inside the north (pillared) entrance. Each color coded bin is associated with a specific organization that is identified by the sign above it on the wall. These organizations are the same ones listed on this page (except for Family Promise): Family Sharing, Children's Clothing Center, Pregnancy Resource Centers, & Jim Luther New Hope Center (formerly St. Hyacinth's Food Pantry).
