Knights of Columbus Mequon Council, partnering with Lumen Christi School and Catholic Formation, asked students to show how to “Keep Christ in Christmas.” The Knights of Columbus organization sponsors the Keep Christ in Christmas program to promote the true spirit of Christmas in homes, schools, and parishes literally throughout the world. The winning Mequon entries advance to the district/region and then to state, national, and international levels. The winning entries may serve as the basis for a series of new Christmas posters that encourage a deeper understanding of the holiday.
“By engaging the creativity and imaginations of our youth, we hope they will come to a deeper understanding of the true, spiritual meaning of Christmas,” said Council 4538 Program Manager Steve McGuire. The winners were announced and cash prizes ($20 - $30) awarded on December 17th at Lumen Christi School. Their artwork has been on display in the narthex of the church.
