Baptism, the first sacrament of initiation, marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship to Jesus Christ. At Lumen Christi Catholic Church, we joyfully welcome children into our faith community. It is our hope that the faith of parents will be deepened as they bring their children to the font to become new members of the Catholic Christian community. We pledge to you our ongoing prayers and support.

Due to restrictions during this time of COVID-19, baptism preparation will be handled on an individual basis. Please contact Kathy Shields to make arrangements.
Topics in the first session include the theology of and Rite of Baptism. The second session focuses on the spirituality of family life.
Please contact Kathy Shields to register for your child's baptism. Baptisms are scheduled as registrations are received.
It is recommended that you arrange for your child's baptism at least three months ahead of time. Baptism Preparation Sessions are offered frequently to assist in understanding the sacramentality of baptism.
Baptisms are typically scheduled for Saturdays or Sundays, depending on the parish liturgical calendar.
